Historical Society

The Historical Society of Kensington NH celebrated its 50th year in 2020. It was incorporated on November 10, 1970.

Article 2 states " The object for which this corporation is established is: To preserve the historical records of the town; To preserve and maintain its antiquities; To interest and encourage the younger generation in perpetuating the traditions of the town."  We appreciate the help and support we receive from our residents. We hope that maintenance of the structures that make the Town what it is will continue and the support to do so will come forth.

Exciting news from 2024...

Good morning Historical Society Members,

First and foremost: Happy Holidays to all! The Historical Society celebrates as we close out an extremely successful fundraising year, and ends 2024 on a cheery note as we welcome three new Board members to our group! 

It is my pleasure to announce that Caroline Alexander will be taking on the role of Vice-President. Caroline's tireless efforts since joining us 2 years ago as secretary have taken our fundraising efforts to new heights. Taking over the Secretary position is Wendy Larson, one of our newest members. Long-term Board member (and the backbone of this Society!), Frank Whittemore, has also been reinstated for 3 more years. 

We welcome two additional new Board members in 2025 as well: Jason Casey and Stephen Osciak. We are so excited to have them both! Stephen is already excited to start looking into the possibility of an oral history project in town. If you have a story, we want to hear it in 2025!

Congratulations to all of you! And thank you to all of the members who voted in this year's election.
